This 5-day module covers body-sighting techniques to develop the ability to see where anatomical asymmetries are and how to adjust students to relieve pain and maximize the correct imprint of the asana on their body.

The module has 20 continuing education credits (CEC) assigned to it. These CEC may be applied to a 300-hour or 500-hour accreditation through Tejas Yoga.

This training is limited to 16 students.

Prerequisite: Must have completed any 200-hour training program and participated in the Adhikara Kula – Anatomy Intensive (3/14-3/19) or be approved by Jim and James.

Technique Training/Practice: 7.5 hours

Practice will include:

  • Focus on specific alignment techniques to increase circulation and oxygenation to specific body parts
  • Learn how an experienced teacher approaches student’s individual issues
  • Practice techniques that demonstrate the relationship of the following:
    • Shoulder girdle
    • Arms
    • Sternum
    • Ribs
    • Spine
    • Neck

Theory/Philosophy: 7.5 hours

Topics will include:

  • Yoga as the best antidote for bacterial, viral and environmental toxins
  • Learn how to strengthen the body’s defenses against disease
  • The art and theory of restorative postures
  • Back care basics

Methodology/Practicum: 5 hours

Topics will include:

  • Learn how to free the lower limbs from stiffness and immobility
  • Recognizing scoliosis, SI joint dysfunction and sciatica pain
  • How to traction the spine in different directions of mobility
  • Assessing individual issues in the group
  • Case study practicum
