Keely’s passion and commitment to the practice of Yoga, guides students towards a mind body awareness that creates space for a student’s inner peace and their authentic balance.
Her life as a dedicated yogi began long ago, but only in 2005 did Keely make the conscious effort to make Yoga an integral part of her life path. A movement artist from the very beginning, she danced from her early childhood all the way through college. Then she transitioned into Martial Arts and did Capoeira with Grupo Axe’ for several years. After years of dancing on the stage and traveling internationally to acquire her next belt in Capoeira, she decided it was time to give her body some replenishment and nurturing. Having taken yoga classes here and there over the years, she decided to dedicate herself to the art of asana. In 2008 Keely received her 200 hour RYT from Moksha Yoga Chicago under Daren Freisen. She has had the pleasure of studying and being influenced by teachers, Kim Wilcox, Seane Corn, Tias Little, Gabriel Halpern, and others. She is forever indebted and honored to be able to study intensively under Jim Bennitt and following in the tradition of Tantric Hatha yoga.
In Keely’s class you can expect both meditation, and an intelligent sequence of poses that emphasize breath, alignment, and a comfortable challenge within each pose. She aims to guide students to extend their experience from their yoga mat, to their lives outside the studio. Paying close attention to student’s capabilities, limitations, and intentions for the practice, Keely teaches a class that is accessible to all levels of practitioners, spiritually, physically and mentally. All of her work both in and out of the yoga studio is aimed at promoting peace and social justice to all living beings, by igniting the spiritual activist and warrior within.
