Don’t fear the bump!

This workshop will give yoga teachers the knowledge and confidence to safely accommodate a prenatal student in their class. Expectant mothers who are interested in continuing their yoga practice while pregnant are also welcome and encouraged to participate.

General contraindications, risks, and benefits of practicing yoga while pregnant will be discussed. We will cover the basic anatomical and hormonal shifts of each trimester and how to effectively modify traditional asana, pranayama techniques, and sequencing methods to accommodate these changes. Common physical conditions that a pregnant student might share with you will be reviewed, giving you a basic understanding of how to safely address her needs.
