Becca Allister
Becca began practicing yoga in 1999 while still living in the UK. There, she was introduced to a mindful asana practice which incorporated the practices of pranayama, chanting and meditation. She found the practice transformational and a great tool for dealing with the challenges of being a new school teacher.
Becca moved to the United States in 2005 where she practiced Bikram for a year in Houston and then when she first moved to Chicago. Since living in Chicago she has spent time exploring Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinysa flow yoga.
In 2014 Becca started practicing on a regular basis at Tejas with Jim and James. In 2017 she participated in Tejas’s 200-hour Teacher Training Program. She originally went into the teacher program wanting to deepen her own practice. However by the end of the program it had become clear she wanted to share the benefits of a dedicated yoga practice with other people.
Since then, she has enthusiastically been offering classes to work-colleagues and students that she teaches. She is excited and honored to be on the teaching staff at Tejas where she aspires to offer intelligently sequenced classes.
