INTRODUCTION TO YOGA

This is a four-class series beginning on the FIRST Sunday or FIRST Wednesday of each month. You will be introduced to basic postures (asana), breathwork (pranayama), meditation techniques, and yoga philosophy.

After the Introduction to Yoga Series, you will continue to lay the groundwork for your asana practice. You will become more familiar with your own limitations and strengths.

This class offers options for the experienced beginner as well as the seasoned practitioner. During asana practice, several variations or options are presented to allow each student to feel challenged.

VIGOROUS

More complex asana and intricate pranayama techniques are offered to you in the vigorous class.

RESTORATIVE

This class is designed for deep relaxation. It involves passive yoga stretches to open joints and stretch muscles, as well as supported poses, breathwork, and guided imagery to soothe the nervous system and calm the mind.

GENTLE

Basic postures, simple movement, and accessible strengthening exercises are elements of this class.
